We are pleased to announce that Michael Via will join Montgomery Bell Academy as our next Director of Enrollment Management, beginning July 1, 2026.

Michael brings more than a decade of experience in independent school admission and enrollment leadership, most recently serving as Chief Enrollment Management Officer at St. John’s Episcopal School in Dallas, where he was a member of the senior leadership team. During his tenure, he led a comprehensive evolution of the school’s enrollment strategy.

Before moving into enrollment leadership, Michael served as a classroom teacher, coach, and advisor at The Potomac School, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School, and Norfolk Academy. Michael's love for teaching and coaching inspires his work with boys and families throughout the admissions process and beyond, and fuels his commitment to "a holistic, values-based education where expectations of integrity, service, and personal responsibility are equally important as academic excellence."

Michael holds a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, bringing both professional expertise and a strong personal connection to Nashville. An alumnus of Hampden-Sydney College, an all-male institution, and a lifelong educator, he has a deep appreciation for MBA’s mission and a shared commitment to forming young men of wisdom and moral integrity prepared to make meaningful contributions to their communities.

“I am honored to join Montgomery Bell Academy as the next Director of Enrollment Management and to work alongside Dr. William Daughtrey and the leadership team,” Michael shared. “I have a deep respect for MBA’s proud tradition of forming gentlemen, scholars, and athletes, and I am eager to support boys through these formative years that shape them into thoughtful, principled young men. My family and I are excited to make Nashville our home and become part of the MBA community.”

Over the coming semester, Greg Ferrell, MBA’s current Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, will work closely with Michael to support a thoughtful and collaborative transition. We are deeply grateful for Greg’s leadership and unparalleled service to the School and look forward to celebrating his many contributions in the months ahead as he prepares to retire in June 2026.

Michael will relocate to Nashville this summer with his wife, Sarah, and their sons—Reid (6), Harris (4), and Miller (1). Please join us in welcoming Michael and his family to the MBA community.
